Pink Mohawk

Terms

Pink Mohawk is free, and it is one person's side project rather than a company. That cuts both ways: nothing is being sold to you, and nothing is being promised to you either.

The short version

  • Use it for your games. It costs nothing.
  • What you write here is yours.
  • It may break, change or stop. Keep your own copy of anything you would be sad to lose.
  • Do not use it to hurt people or to break the law.

The rest of this page is those four, said carefully.

It is a fan project

Pink Mohawk is an unofficial companion app for tabletop play. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Catalyst Game Labs. Shadowrun and Shadowrun: Anarchy are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to say what this app is for.

It does not contain the rules. It does the arithmetic those rules describe, and you still need the books to play.

Your account

An account is yours and is meant for one person. You are responsible for what happens under it — including anything done by software you have handed an access token to, which is exactly as much access as you ticked when you made it. If a token gets loose, delete it from your profile page; that stops it at once.

What you make here

Your characters, your campaigns and your writing stay yours. Nothing here claims ownership of them or licenses them to anybody.

Storing them does mean this app holds a copy and shows it to the people you have chosen to show it to — the crew at your table, anyone holding a share link you made. That is the app doing what you asked it to.

Only upload what you have the right to. A portrait is the usual place this goes wrong: somebody else’s artwork is somebody else’s, whatever a search result implies.

What not to do with it

  • Nothing illegal, and nothing that targets, harasses or endangers a real person.
  • Do not upload malware, or content that is unlawful to hold or to pass on.
  • Do not try to reach other people’s accounts, campaigns or characters, or to get around the checks that stop you.
  • Do not hammer the thing. Automated access through an access token is welcome and is what tokens are for; using it to flood the service is not.

Content or accounts that break this can be removed. For anything serious that is the only remedy available here, and it will be used rather than reasoned about.

No promises

The app is provided as it is. There is no guarantee that it will be available, that it will be correct, that your data will survive, or that a number it shows you matches the book. It is offered without warranties of any kind, as far as the law where you live allows.

The arithmetic is a convenience, not an authority. If the app and the rulebook disagree, the rulebook is right and the app has a bug.

To the extent the law allows it, nobody behind this project is liable for anything that follows from using it — lost characters, a lost campaign, a lost evening. Some places do not allow that kind of limit, and where that is true it simply does not apply to you.

It can change or stop

Features come and go, and the whole thing could be switched off. There is no notice period, because there is no company here to give one. A campaign you care about is worth keeping your own notes on.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page, and Privacy spells out exactly what that takes with it. An account may also be removed from this side if it is being used to break the rules above.

If these change

The date at the top changes with them. Carrying on using the app after that is how you accept the new version — there is nowhere to sign.
